The Lancers opened their Florida event against a very strong, seasoned opponent from Georgia. With Kiel Rieth on the mound throwing well, the Lancers battled early but slowly gave way to their opponent in innings 3, 4 and 5. The Lancer lineup was able to mount only a small amount of offense late in the game. The final score was Allatoona 10 - Lakeland 2.
Somerset Christian from the state of Kentucky was clearly overmatched by the Lakeland Lancer Baseball Team. The Lancers scored early and scored often on route to a 17-0 thrashing in 5 short innings. Sean Reilley started for Lakeland and pitched well on route to the victory. Many Lancers had the opportunity to hit and hit well they did!
The Lancers concluded their Florida event against Spring Valley from the state of West Virginia. In what turned out to be the best game of the event, Lakeland prevailed by a score of 6 to 4. Sean Reilley, who was pulled early from game 2 due to the large Lakeland lead in that game, relieved and picked up his 2nd victory of the trip. The balanced Lakeland offensive was lead by Andrew Neidzwiecki’s huge home run.
